Meet Maggie Barbahen and Lisa Sanchez
Maggie and Lisa started at Hofbräuhaus Chicago during the earliest days of our opening and have become a recognizable presence in our Haus. They both started as servers and trainers before moving to the position they hold now behind the bar. They work together like a tag team with each of them aware of where the other is as they move in a seemingly fluent and effortless manner servicing what is quite often a large number of people around the bar. They both seem to wear the same smile and truly enjoy working so closely together.
However this effortless exterior they project is fueled by caffeine. They both shared that they cannot start a shift without a cappuccino or a latte, and that their favorite menu items are Caesar Salad and Schweinbraten. As for their personal choice in libations, they both favor the Dunkel Bier and the pear brandy. They are experts in what they serve and can answer all patrons questions as well as guide them to making the best choice to suit individuals particular tastes. They also take food orders at the bar and their knowledge as servers comes into play on a nightly basis.
Outside of their work, Lisa loves to travel and is very family centered while Maggie is enthralled with raising her son, Logan, who is the pride and joy of her life. They both will freely share these experiences with friends and guests alike. Both ladies present to everyone everything that is the best of Hofbräuhaus Chicago. They are our weekend “dynamic duo” behind the bar and both are unique and very special. Thank you, Maggie and Lisa, for helping make Hofbräuhaus Chicago the special place that it is.
